We, at Northern Cross, have been in love with and involved with the Golden Retriever breed for 20 years.  Our foundation girl came to us from our “sister” kennel, Southern Cross in Tamworth,  NH, which was owned by my dear friend Teresa Maura.   We are three generation family-based hobby breeders, breeding on a small scale.  Northern Cross is not a commercial kennel.  Our dogs are born and raised in our home, sleep on our beds, and laze on our furniture.  They are raised with children, cats, and other dogs.  We have placed pups in homes for therapy dog training, as well as on farms.  All of our dogs are CKC registered dogs as are their offspring.

We are located on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Our girl, Bobbie, “Southern Cross Tangled up in Blue”, achieved her Canadian Championship in September 2018, after only 3 weekends of shows.  She also has her Canine Good Neighbor designation.  Bobbie is a beautiful light golden who produced her first litter with sire Hillock’s Jack Daniels in July 2019, and her second litter with sire Harmony’s 24K Chrome in August 2020.

Northern Cross provides CKC registration papers for your pup, as well as proof of hip and elbow clearance, and normal cardiac and eye results from OFA for both parents. We stand behind the genetic health of all of our puppies. We provide a 2 year health guarantee and a life time of breeder support.  We encourage all puppy families to keep in touch for their pup’s lifetime.

We are active members of the Canadian Kennel Club, the Golden Retriever Club of Canada, the Maritime Golden Retriever Club, the Cape Breton Kennel Club and the Pictou County Kennel Club
